Scott & Muriel noemen zichzelf “The Accidental Illusionists”. Dat zijn illusionisten die zichzelf niet al te serieus nemen! Het lijkt er in de show steeds op dat alles per ongeluk gebeurt, maar dat is niet zo. Alles in de shows wordt zorgvuldig gepland en geconstrueerd om de perfecte illusie van een hilarische mislukking te creëren. Scott & Muriel geloven dat het verrassen van mensen, publiek aan het lachen te maken om ze vervolgens te verbazen met ongelooflijke magie. Dit is een geweldig recept om mensen gelukkig te maken.
Muriel Brugman uit Nederland, en Scott Nelson, oorspronkelijk uit Californië (maar nu ook een Nederlandse burger!) zijn de echte namen van deze twee top-artiesten. Alle shows bestaan uit originele illusies die zij zelf hebben gemaakt, gecombineerd met hysterische non-verbale komedie. In 1999 zijn Scott & Muriel een samenwerking met elkaar aan gegaan en na een jaar reisden zij naar Lissabon Lissabon, Portugal, om deel te nemen aan de Wereldkampioenschappen Magie. Uit 140 inzendingen uit de hele wereld werd de hilarische act van Scott & Muriel beoordeeld als de allerbeste act van de hele Wereld en zij kregen de prestigieuze Grand Prix toegekend. En zo werden zij het eerste komische duo in de geschiedenis dat de titel won: “World Champions of Magic”

What’s an Accidental Illusionist? It’s an illusionist that doesn’t take himself – or herself – too seriously! And while it may look like everything in the shows of Scott & Muriel is happening by accident – it isn’t! They’ve planned out and constructed everything carefully in order to create the perfect illusion of a hilarious disaster.
Scott and Muriel believe that surprising people, making them laugh, and then amazing them with some incredible magic, is a terrific recipe for making people happy. In real life they are Scott Nelson, originally from California (but now a Dutch citizen as well!) and Muriel Brugman of the Netherlands.
All shows consist of original illusions that they created theirselves, combined with hysterical non-verbal comedy.
Scott & Muriel began working together in 1999. One year later they travelled to Lisbon, Portugal, to compete in the World Championships of Magic.
Out of 140 entries from around the world, the act was judged to be the very best act, and they were awarded the prestigious Grand Prix.
And so they became the first comedy duo in history to win the title:
